Kingston Town & Manikato were "The King" & "The Man" in the 70s & 80s they were two of the greatest warriors of the Australian Turf. This sensational piece has been dedicated to both of the great Champions of the Turf and are a limited edition of 500 worldwide.
These items are one of the rarest pieces of horse racing memorabilia on the market as not only are the photos of Kingston Town & Manikato hard to come by these days but both of the photographs in these items have been personally hand signed by the great jockeys Malcolm Johnston (Kingston Town) & Garry Willetts (Manikato). Both racing greats have signed the photographs in permanent black markers.
The piece consists of a two action shot photographs one of Kingston Town winning the last race the Champion ever won which was the 1982 Western Mail Classic and the other of Manikato winning the 1980 Futurity takes in which Manikato also won for the next two consecutive years. Under each of the photographs lies the stats plaques on each of the Champions which states Year foaled, Bloodlines, Trainer, Prizemoney, Race Starts including wins & placing's then all the details of their major career wins. In the centre of the two photographs lies the short description/ story of the two also included in the piece is our signature plaque stating " Original Compilation by www.championsoftheturf.com " which is on all of our items that we sell. (similar to a hologram)
To finish this brilliant piece off it has been professionally matted in double sided acid free turf green matt boards then framed in a heritage walnut teak frame, On the back of the frame there are also the carpet buttons on each corner to prevent marking the walls when hanging.
