The story behind this piece is one of the real romances of the turf.
From a life of hardship and struggle in poor, rural New South Wales , Tommy Smith rose to become the greatest trainer of thoroughbred racehorses the world has ever seen.
Today, in horse racing – TJ's legacy still lives strong in industry and truly gives the game its name of "Sport of Kings" …
'Tulloch', the horse who, like Phar Lap before him became the hero of the nation, has been captured by renowned racing photographer, Ern McQuillan.
As the storm clouds build up overhead, Tulloch thunders home at Randwick with the great George Moore urging him on, yet again making it look like a 'one-horse race'.
' Kingston Town ', the sleek, black gelding proves once again in his featured photograph that there has never been a more thrilling sight in racing than 'The King' producing another one of his trademark, electrifying finishes. This time its his first Cox Plate victory with Malcolm Johnson aboard.
With only 1, TJ Smith - 1, Tulloch and 1, Kingston Town, Champions of the Turf have combined this design to produce this ONE of a kind custom made tribute to celebrate these icons of our much loved sport!
