Top main lithograph displays images of legend Phar Lap. Each of the photos represents a group 1 win, in 1 week in 1930, at Flemington. These 4 Wins / Photos are also known as the "Flemington Onslaught".
Win & Photo 1 = Melbourne Stakes
Win & Photo 2 = Melbourne Cup
Win & Photo 3 = Linlithgow Stakes
Win & Photo 4 = C.B Fisher Plate.
The bottom images in each of the windows is private footage, taken by Phar Laps owners shows Phar Lap crossing the finishing line in the 1930 Melbourne Cup at Flemington racecourse. This is the first time a photo sequence of this event was ever published. The footage was held in storage for more than five decades in the Davis family attic in America before being discovered.
This has been personally signed by Jack baker, the first jockey to win on Phar lap. Jack Baker was an accomplished jockey who won the Sydney Metropolitan Aprrentice's Premiership in 1928/29, and later became a successful trainer. He was 18 when he won on Phar Lap and lost his claim to the apprentice's allowance as a result of his win.
