The John Hawkes trained 4YO Gelding by Zabeel (NZ) - La Suffragett(NZ) travelled to Melbourne after his slashing win in the Group 1 Metropolitan Handicap at Randwick in Sydney to take on the class field in the 2005 Caulfield Cup only 10 days later.
Railings form leading in the Caulfield Cup was exceptional but for some reason the "critics" had given him not much chance at all, this was all based on the one factor of "No horse had won the Metropolitan - Caulfield Cup double in 50+ years"
What they forgot was Railings was not only an above average racehorse but he also has the John Hawkes polish added along with one of the best Group 1 Jockeys in the saddle Greg Childs.
Railings simply proved to strong for this field over the final 100m after coming from well back to defeat Eye Popper (JPN) second - and the late champion Mummify for 3rd.
This piece displays a great action shot photograph of Railings snatching the race right on the finish line which has been personally hand signed by Greg Childs. Included is two other great photographs , Greg Childs & John Hawkes with the Cup & Greg Childs alone celebrating in the winners circle with the cup raised over his head.
To finish this great collectors item off each piece in this edition has been framed in stylish polished walnut new released frame. Rather elegant edition to celebrate Makybe Diva's stellar career!
Brilliantly finished in the Railings race colours of black and white with polished silver description plaques then framed with the solid black half rounded frame.
