In the history of Australian cricket there has never been a cricket bat signed by the Australian team and released as a licensed limited edition collectable.
Each of the players selected for the first domestic Test match of the summer against England at the 'Gabba in November 2002 has signed directly on to the willow blade of the bat.
The full-size bat is housed in a stunning timber cabinet with a solid slab of 10mm-thick; diamond-polished plexi-glass suspended on the face; for display and protection purposes.
This was the only team-signed 'cricket bat' release for the 2002/03 season. As the first of this series; the 2002/03 debut edition is likely to be highly prized in the prized in the future.
This bat includes the signatures of Steve Waugh; Shane Warne and Glenn McGrath. Due to injury, retirement and suspension this was the only First XI bat signed by these big 3 together.
Independently authenticated by PricewaterhouseCoopers; each comes with a Certificate of Authenticity and Limitation which certifies the veracity of both the original signature and the limited edition nature of the release.
