In December 2006 Andrew Symonds marked his return to Test cricket at the M.C.G. with a scintillating 156 in the Boxing Day Test. Heralding a cricketing renaissance, the innings finally established Symonds as an integral part of the Australian XI in both the long and short forms of the game.
