On September 23 rd in Motegi , Japan , Australia 's own Casey Stoner was crowned the 2007 MotoGP World Champion, and the new champ couldn't have timed it better with the next race offering him a hero's homecoming at Phillip Island . Casey didn't get to where he is by putting on the brakes, so he came home to race the only way he knows how. As Australia gathered in their thousands to watch their newly crowned champion in action at Phillip Island on October 14 th , he didn't disappoint by leading from the start and taking the honours to further cement his claim as the fastest man on two wheels.
