Resilient, relentless, loyal, courageous and consistent ….
Call them superlatives, but they appropriately describe Danny Buderus. The greatest Knights player behind the legendary Andrew Johns, Buderus's achievements are inspirational - particularly considering the injuries he had to carry for the past three years of his Australian career. Indeed, his regular roommate Johns says he has seen no braver footballer.
Buderus, originally a halfback/five-eighth become a hooker of the grandest scale. He won a premiership with the Knights in 2001, the Dally M Medal in 2004 and holds the NSW State of Origin records for the most successive games, 21 (2002-08) and the most as captain with 15 (2004-08).
