Way back in 1908 a privileged few were fortunate enough to experience the birth of Rugby League in Australia. Some 3,000 people attended the first game which was played at Birchgrove Oval, an honour and a memory to be truly treasured. Who amongst them could have dreamt of the heights to which the local rugby league competition would one day soar
One hundred years later and we find ourselves privileged to be a part of the game's centenary.
To commemorate this historic year the Centenary of Rugby League is proud to release The Captains Ball, an official Steeden Match Ball signed by those select few chosen to lead their teams in the Centenary Year, the 16 club captains, and mounted on an authentic heritage presentation stand.
Only 25 of these will ever be produced and released to the public, meaning this piece of Rugby League history is sure to be keenly sought after by collectors and fans alike. We urge you to act fast to avoid disappointment.
